I get mail. From a pro-pollution friend, I received a link today to a blog which interpreted the info coming out of CERN to be, well, mostly showing, er, I mean proof, in my opinion, that Climate Change is absolutely, as far as some of us are concerned, caused by Cosmic Radiation.
If your position on a subject is at the extreme end, I usually don't spend much time debating with you ... but I had a few minutes to kill:
Global Warming is a fascinating issue. Because of it's scale and our scientific limitations, it cannot be proven what all the causes are and in what proportion.
I'm not a scientist who studies climate. I can only rely on what the global consensus of scientists believe.

The above list is good enough for me, for now. Find me a study that determines most scientists believe that man made doubling of CO2 has no affect on climate and I will re-think my position on the subject.
GW has an affect on the ocean lifestyle I write about. The other toxins (mercury, arscenic, nitrogen oxides, VOC's, CO, and on) that we are pumping into the air and water by burning stuff for energy has nothing to do with GW but do harm Us and our children. Another non-GW issue that is having a negative effect on the ocean is the man made increased CO2 content. And that is not being debated because it is based on facts we have:

From the link to the blog you sent, a quote from the director of CERN:
"One has to make clear that cosmic radiation is only one of many parameters."
And the blogger's interpretation was understandable if you follow the money (as my pollutionist friend tells me to do). He is not subjective by-stander. He makes his living from books including: "365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy"
It is my understanding that cosmic rays have effect on climate too. The science on that should be clearer in the years following our solar flare peak (2013?) though historically, we have witnessed many such cycles.
Thanks for the update,
